ROLE SUMMARY

We are hiring an Upwork Bidding Specialist who reads between the lines of every job post, identifies the real pain behind the words, and crafts proposals so sharp and human that the client feels it was written only for them — because it was. You will own the full proposal lifecycle: from opportunity identification through pitch delivery to converting replies into discovery calls.

This is not a volume play. We do not blast proposals, recycle templates, or submit AI-generated text with zero personality. If your approach to Upwork is send 20 bids a day and hope something sticks, this is not the right role. If you can read a job post in five minutes and identify the exact hook that makes a client respond — keep reading.

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

Proposal Strategy & Copywriting

  • Ability to read every job post critically and identify the real pain, unstated needs, and business goals behind the words — before writing a single line
  • Craft a unique hook for every proposal that stops the client from scrolling — no recycled openers, no generic intros
  • Write proposals that align directly to the client's business objective, not just list services or capabilities
  • Strong written English with a natural, human tone — your proposals should never sound robotic, templated, or AI-generated without personality
  • Ability to address what the client did not write but clearly meant — and demonstrate that understanding in the pitch

Upwork Platform Expertise

  • Minimum 1 year of active Upwork bidding experience — individual or agency side — with a proven, demonstrable response rate
  • Understanding of Upwork's algorithm: timing, profile strength, proposal structure, connects strategy, and ranking factors
  • Track record of closed contracts on Upwork — not just sent proposals. We will ask for data and screenshots
  • Bid tracking discipline: you log every proposal, study your response rates weekly, and constantly refine your approach based on what the data tells you

AI Tooling & Visual Prototyping

  • Active use of AI tools (Claude, ChatGPT, v0, Figma, Framer) to build concept mockups, wireframes, or visual prototypes as part of the pitch — not as a gimmick but as a competitive advantage
  • Ability to use AI for drafting, iteration, and enhancement while maintaining a distinct human voice and strategic intent in every proposal

Client Conversion & Communication

  • Proven ability to convert proposal replies into discovery calls through confident, intelligent chat — you understand the transition from text pitch to live conversation
  • Comfortable handling objections, qualifying leads, and steering conversations toward next steps without being pushy or salesy

Critical Thinking & Self-Improvement

  • You are a critical thinker who rewrites your own first draft because good enough is not good enough
  • You track performance data, identify patterns in what wins and what doesn't, and iterate your approach systematically
  • Comfortable working in a high-accountability environment where your response rate and conversion rate are the scoreboard

WHAT YOU WILL OWN

  • End-to-end Upwork proposal lifecycle: opportunity scanning, job post analysis, hook identification, proposal writing, and submission
  • Client reply management: turning initial responses into qualified discovery calls and handoffs to the sales or delivery team
  • Bid performance tracking: maintaining a log of all proposals with response rates, conversion rates, and weekly self-analysis reports
  • Proposal quality iteration: continuously refining your approach based on data, client feedback, and win/loss patterns
  • AI-assisted prototyping: building visual concepts, mockups, or demos to attach to proposals where they add competitive advantage
  • Upwork profile optimisation: contributing to profile strength, portfolio presentation, and strategic connects allocation

GOOD TO HAVE

  • Upwork Agency account management experience
  • CRM tools such as Notion, HubSpot, or equivalent for pipeline tracking
  • Understanding of sales funnels, objection handling, and consultative selling techniques
  • Familiarity with software development services, fintech, edtech, or ecommerce — enough to speak credibly about technical deliverables in proposals
  • Experience with Upwork Enterprise or high-value contract acquisition ($5K+ projects)

WHAT WE EXPECT FROM YOU

You will be onsite at our Lahore office (DHA Phase 8). We expect specialist-level judgment: the ability to prioritise high-value opportunities over volume, craft pitches that convert, and own your numbers without being chased. If you need someone to tell you which jobs to bid on or how to write a proposal, this is not the right role. If you can independently identify the best opportunities, write winning proposals, and convert replies into revenue — we want to talk.
